- They perform different work and must not be represented as one organization.

### Think First

- **Think First** is the separate public inquiry initiative.
- Think First strengthens human discernment through public inquiry, publishing, research, media, practical frameworks, conversations, and educational work.
- Human Threshold is not a Think First product, program, publication, research project, department, or alternate name.
- Think First's audience, publications, sponsorships, content, assets, governance, and intellectual property should not automatically be attributed to Human Threshold.

### The M Institute

- **The M Institute** is the separate permanent intellectual and stewardship institution.
- The Institute preserves works, contributions, traditions, people, and standards of inquiry that strengthen human judgment.
- The Institute stewards the **M Fellowship**, **Library of Discernment**, **Fifteen Fields of Inquiry**, and **M Reasoning Protocol**.
- Human Threshold is not another name for The M Institute.
- Human Threshold is not an Institute department, Fellowship program, Library product, publication, or institutional initiative.
- The Institute's stewardship of the M Reasoning Protocol does not make it the software company, employer, contracting party, financing entity, operator, or owner of all Human Threshold product rights.
- Human Threshold does not own or control The M Institute, the M Fellowship, the Library of Discernment, the Fifteen Fields of Inquiry, or the M Reasoning Protocol merely because it may implement Institute-stewarded reasoning standards.
- Any rights to implement, license, modify, commercialize, or otherwise use Institute-stewarded intellectual property must be established through separately stated rights or agreements.

- It is intended to help individuals and organizations examine evidence, assumptions, sources, uncertainty, and competing explanations before judgment.
- Human Threshold is the product/workspace identity. The institutional designation **M** remains associated with The M Institute and Institute-stewarded architecture such as the M Fellowship, M Reasoning Protocol, and M Record.
- Human Threshold should not be referred to simply as **M** in current public descriptions.

## Legal, Economic, and Institutional Separation

- Shared origins do not erase distinct responsibilities.
- Think First, The M Institute, and Human Threshold maintain distinct purposes, identities, governance, finances, assets, intellectual property, contracts, obligations, and audiences.
- A common founder, shared intellectual concerns, related terminology, links between websites, or use of Institute-stewarded methods does not by itself establish common ownership, governance, control, or economic rights.
